This fall I am in the mood for all warm colors, from mustard yellow and orange to burgundy, rust, pink and red. The last one being a favorite since as long as I can remember. I used to buy so much red clothes (and I wasn’t afraid to dress in top to toe red!) that I had to force myself to add other colors to my wardrobe. But isn’t it just something about a red dress or a pair of red lips? This one is my favorite right now.

Every time I come to Bilbao I admire the impressive Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry. The building is so incredible, I can’t stop taking pictures of it. 10 days ago we dropped by to see the exhibition of the indian sculptor Anish Kapoor, which we really liked! If you get a change, see it! We were  a bit tired after the previous night’s late partying so I grabbed the most comfy stuff in my suitcase for this lazy afternoon.

The sweater-dress thing is in a cashmere/wool blend and is absolutely divine. It’s a bargain from Stella McCartney that I found in Italy. Worn with biker shorts from American Apparel, Converse shoes, Ray Bans and my Mulberry Alexa.

As much as I love this one, I think it’s time for me to stop buying striped things, my wardrobe is completely overloaded with everything striped… But this one I just couldn’t resist – when my husband found it in the store, I knew I had to get it.

In May I did the best buy of my (fashion) life: A Mulberry Alexa in Ink Blue. It was an instant hit. I have never experienced this with any other bag but it really goes to everything in my wardrobe – day as night. I have now worn it every day for the last four months. Last week my husband asked me:

- Do you think you could maybe change once in a while and wear another bag?

… my answer is no!

Last Saturday we went to a beautiful wedding set in a small village near the coast in Basque Country, Spain. The couple were so elegant! This picture does not do justice to the brides gorgeous dress, she looked like a goddess!

I wore a 1960′s vintage silk dress, made in Italy. It might be one of my favorite dresses! I  got it around three years ago in a vintage shop in Stockholm.

These disco ball earrings was a birthday gift from a couple of years ago, I love them!

The shoes are Marc by Marc Jacobs that I got from my mom because they didn’t fit her. They turned out to be a perfect match with my dress!

We had an amazing night at Restaurant Mugaritz, a cozy 2 Michelin star place where the food obviously was to die for. It was voted the 4th best restaurant in the world actually, and I understand what they’re talking about – food was divine! Guests were elegant and the couple looked incredibly happy! I hope they’re enjoying themselves right now on their Honeymoon in Japan!

Last time I visited Stockholm I took the opportunity to chat a bit to my friend Jojo to see what was in her closet and to hear what she is into right now. Watch this little film to see what she had to say!

A while back I talked about my obsession with glitter eye make up. Well, now I found this video where the Lancome make up guru Aaron de Mey go completely bananas with the glitter and sparkles! I love it!

In 1976, my mom bought this amazing blue velvet fabric and decided to make a suit out of it. As she couldn’t afford a sewing machine she signed up for after school sewing classes (although she already knew how to sew) just to get access to the machines. She finished it just in time for her high school graduation.

This summer I saw it hanging in the closet and I decided, together with my talented sister in law, to do a small photo session where I would style it in my own way – 34 years later.

Here’s the complete suit. It feels a little too heavy for me, I prefer to wear the pieces separately.

The necklace is vintage Givenchy, bought at a thrift store in Stockholm.

These Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes from spring 2007 I found in Boston at a 70% shoe sale. I’m in love with the green velvet and the wooden heels.

Wearing a suit gives you such a special feeling. It empowers you and makes you feel elegant. I felt like a glamorous lady in the 70′s, now I just wish that I had reason to look this elegant every day!

I started modeling when I was 13, these photos are from one of my first shoots in Stockholm. I was dying to grow up, to get out of the small town I was raised in and hungry for new experiences. My interest in fashion led to this decision, that made me grow up too fast, that made me far too concerned with my weight. Thinking back on these years I just wished I had waited, been patient and stayed a school girl for just a little while longer. But I’ve never had patience.

13 is such a fragile age and it makes me sad to see the majority of the models in some shows in this young age. You’ve just gone from child to teenager and you listen too much to what your agency tells you, even if it’s not healthy for you. You haven’t had the time to develop your own voice in this world of adults and it’s just too easy to get on the wrong track. I was affected by the industry, I’m not gonna lie, I was way too skinny sometimes. But I was still lucky, I had parents who would come with me to all shoots and meetings at the agency and setting some boundaries. And when I got the offer to go to Milan for a few months they strictly said no, I was absolutely furious at their decision then, but today I am feeling nothing but thankful!

Zarautz on the coast of north Spain, this surfers paradise, was our destination last week. The long stretch of beach was beautiful, although a bit too crowded (pictures are taken before noon). We got some sunny days for just swimming in the sea and chilling out, watching the surfers patiently wait for the big waves. It was was so relaxing!

You know how you plan your summer wardrobe and you carefully pack your suitcase before a trip? Well, it turns out that this summer I could have just packed this white knitted tunic – I’ve worn it so much! Of course it’s also the cheapest thing, that I got on a whim from Forever 21′s online store… Ha ha! So much for planning huh?

… I wish I could look like this, like every day. This look has it all: layers, patterns, the hat, perfect sunglasses, perfect bag… well you get the point. I’m almost looking forward to be able to wear a sweat, jacker or a hat again after months of hot summer days (in Philly I haven’t worn jeans since april!). But now, when I’m still here at the airport waiting to take my flight home I realize that it is still 35 degrees C in Philly… so fall is nowhere near yet… Anyway, you can always get inspired and plan for what is to come!
