There’s no other accessory that can so drastically change a look like a great hat, it’s a little bit like magic. I can’t think of an accessory more powerful to be honest. I’m a hat gal for sure – see my own collection here. A great hat completes your look in every season – a panama hat or a woven floppy straw hat at the beach in the spring/summer and a felt fedora or classic top hat in fall/winter. Then we have all of those gorgeous scarves (head wraps) and turbans…don’t get me started that’s a post all on it’s own…

I have a secret dream of designing my own collection of hats, how great to be able to decide the exact color and style, making them a little different – putting your own touch upon them. I’d love to do that one day! But until then, here’s a collage of some really cool hats. Do you like wearing hats? Which one is your favorite among these? I’ve always been a scarf person, a piece of colorful fabric can add so much to an outfit in my opinion. I love them as head wraps, bow ties or simply as they are! So one of the good things about fall for me is being able to wear scarves again after the summer heat is long gone.

This year I decided to add a few vintage scarves to my collection from this little vintage scarf shop on Etsy. I love the polka dotted ones so much but I have to say my favorite among them is the last one here. This Oscar de la Renta silk scarf is in an incredible quality, it’s soft and light as air. And how pretty isn’t that floral pattern? I have a feeling that I’ll wear it quite a lot the months to come.

This is the second of my current accessories obsessions posts, and it’s simply a bunch of things in natural hues. As much as I love powerful colors in accessories I also love earthy colors in fall, it kind of goes with my mood. So these months ahead I’m planning on wearing this stuff a lot. The floppy hat I’ll wear with dresses like here, and those boots will be perfect with jeans. I think everyone should have a pair of cowboy boots in their wardrobe, you might not wanna wear them every day and with everything but styled right they’ll make your outfit really stand out! A new season is here, a chill is in the air even though the sun is still shining. Finally it’s cool enough to layer up in hats and scarves and to switch that neon manicure to a darker shade. I love how fall makes me wear more accessories, it’s just so much fun to play with. I though I’d show you what I’m currently loving from my own wardrobe, this is the first out of two posts (I’ll post the second one tomorrow). This first one is a tribute to my love of everything burgundy & blue. Isn’t it a great combination?

This week I received the most precious and beautiful gift I could imagine! My heart was racing as I opened the black box with white letters and found the most perfect handbag in butter soft leather. A Bordeaux quilted classic jumbo flap bag from Chanel. The reason I got this gift from my husband is quite long, so I’m just gonna tell you the short version: he loves to spoil his wife! Yes, I am a lucky girl!

But it was by no means a coincidence that I got this particular handbag, I had tried to find it for almost a year! It all started when I saw this image in an old issue of Vogue from 2008. It was the perfect bag! Classic yet unique with its deep burgundy color, the gunmetal hardware contrasted the elegant design and the size was just perfect for me. I always carry around too many things and I have no intension to stop doing so! Now the next problem was how to find it. I went to a Chanel store and they told me that I was searching in vein. This bag was produced in 2008 and only then and even at that point it was hard to find because of the strong demand. I left the store disappointed and thought that if I can’t have this bag I don’t want any other Chanel bag… it’s this one or no one.

The weeks went by and turned into months, and I couldn’t let it out of my thoughts. I started looking for it in vintage online shops but it was a jungle! How can you be certain that what you’re buying is really authentic? Finally I found a shop that had great reviews and that were widely recommended in the fashion industry: Yoogi’s Closet. They sell gently used luxury items like handbags and have a 100% authenticity guarantee. I started scanning the bags on a daily basis and after a few months, there it was! CLICK! It was mine. Heart is racing, palms are sweaty… Chanel orgasm.

The beauty of it all is that it is not even used! Someone had bought it three years ago and barely taken it out of the box. And all original documents like the authenticity card etc was intact. This Wednesday I finally got it and what can I say, the photos doesn’t make it any justice… it is as perfect as a handbag can be. Chanel perfection! (And you all know I’m a purse junkie!) So, you can now prepare yourself for seeing this beauty in a lot of outfits from now on. So, what do you say, aren’t you gonna congratulate me on my new baby?

There’s nothing I’d want more right now than to get my hands on one of these Gucci felt fedoras. I can’t think of anything that completes a look more in fall and winter than a nice fedora. As you know I love my black fedora to death, but I wouldn’t mind having one in a color. These ones are too pricey for me but I’ll try to look for vintage one as soon as possible. However, I love these pictures from the fall/winter collection, they serve as great inspiration for my fall wardrobe.

I’ve always been a collector of jewelry, vintage and new, and if I’d show you my boxes of bangles and jewelry from India I’m sure you’d faint or something. When I moved over to the US I only took a small part of my collection and left the rest behind at my parents place. But when I had my apartment in Stockholm I had all my stuff on display which caused guests to often ask if I was selling jewelry! They though I had some kind of store in my bedroom. Anyway. I have to admit that I probably only wear like 10 pieces over and over again and I though I’d show you which these favorites are. Perhaps I’ll show you the other stuff when I go to Sweden in a couple of weeks.

These are my best summer earrings. They are huge! Statement earrings you could call them. Also Forever 21. I don’t like their clothes that much but they make some really pretty accessories!

Since the start of the summer I’ve been favoring informal canvas or straw bags over my more normal leather accessories. I love summer bags that can be thrown around without much care on summer activities at the beach or on picnics in the grass. The last thing I want is to worry about ruining my expensive purse on summer adventures. Therefore these four bags are my top pics for the summer, let me show you…

This colorful one of a kind Shigra bag is handcrafted by women in Ecuador. It’s woven of cabuya straw and very tough.

It gives a pop of color to any simple outfit! It’s new for this year and I got it a while back from Anthropologie.

This Marc by Marc Jacobs canvas tote is perfect for days when I need to bring my laptop or a bunch of books as it’s quite roomy.

I love the playful pattern and the fact that it has a long shoulder strap. I got it last spring and have used it so much.

This neon pink canvas bag is actually a shopping bag from Free People. I love that they don’t use plastic bags, this one is so good to re-use!

This will be my beach bag of this year where I’ll stuff towels and sunscreen for a lazy day on the beach.

Perhaps my most frequently used bag as of right now is this straw tote with a lockable top. It’s a vintage find from Etsy and goes perfectly with almost all of my summer dresses.

I’m not a shoe girl… I think I have around 5 pairs of high heels. It does not really interest me that much and I’m too comfy to bother… But everyone has an obsession in some way, I believe, and my obsession is handbags! Oh, how I drool over the handbags walking around in Barneys or at Mulberry, I must look like a fool! My eyes seem to be soon popping out and my heart starts beating faster. Yes… I am a purse junkie!

Which one of these do you like the most?

Yesterday I went out on a mission: to find some perfect accessories for a party outfit! I haven’t told you yet, but I’m leaving for Spain on Thursday and going to the most fabulous wedding there on Saturday! I couldn’t be more excited for my husbands cousin Maria and her husband-to-be Mark as they tie the knot in Bilbao this weekend, it will be just divine! The dress I’m wearing have been hanging in my closet since January when I got it in New York. It is Kate Moss for Top Shop – and yes, it was love at first sight!

But finding the right accessories has been a hustle… nothing I already had seemed to fit. It was either too glamorous or too rough. I was out shopping yesterday with my mom and we visited what felt like hundreds of stores and I couldn’t find anything at all… I hate that feeling also, when you “have to” buy something, instead of just accidentally falling in love with a particular piece.

Anyway, it was not until we dropped by the Free People Store that I found everything within minutes. Suddenly I had found the most rad shoes ever (having a huge python obsession!!) that will keep my maxi gown not too glam (still need to feel like myself!). I also found the perfect necklace to go with my dress (shown below) and a tie dye scarf to throw on would it turn colder. I love Free People… what can I say! Of course I couldn’t help also buying this vest (below) that was on sale. I think I saw it in the Feb 11 catalogue and it is just perfection with the ruffles on the front!

Next time I’ll not make the mistake of going to Free People last… That will save me a lot of time : )
