Black & White

by Elsa Termenon on October 16, 2011

This little black and white outfit is what I wore on Friday night going out for a dinner at our favorite french bistro. This style is a bit unusual for me in two ways: I rarely go for an all black and white outfit (I adore color!) and I rarely go for a “boyish” silhouette (I live in the believe that I’m too curvy for that…). But how fun would it be to never challenge yourself to break your own fashion rules? Right, so I decided to wear this outfit despite the lack of color – I said to myself that the zebra print overload would make up for it!

This zebra jacket is a vintage treasure that has been living in the back of my closet for the last three years. The number of times I’ve used it can be counted on one hand… It is a bit challenging to wear zebra print because it’s just so over the top, so I decided to go for a simple 60′s rock and roll chic look this time and I think it worked. I didn’t feel the print taking over too much and I quite liked the “boyish” silhouette on me. Wearing low rise jeans with a tucked in shirt actually felt like a fresh change to my usual high waisted jeans.

Now how do you like the outfit? Is zebra print something you’d ever wear?

 I’m Wearing:

Zebra jacket – Vintage

White shirt – J Crew “Boyfriend” shirt

Polkadot bow – made of ribbon bought from American Apparel

Cocktail ring – House of Harlow 1960

Black skinny jeans – H&M

Patent leather loafers - Aerosoles

You’re an absolute legend, I LOVE YOU for this post. You look like Keith Richard’s sixties girlfriend, and this outfit totally reminds me of Keith. You pull of the ‘boysih’ look really well. Absolutely love this. xx

I just love this look!  And you’re so right.  It’s good to break your own fashion rules every now and again.  It’s a challenge but it can be so much fun & rewarding.  Oh and I’m a zebra lover, myself.  Pretty much any animal print will do in my book :) xoxo

This is awesome.  And the look is part early Bob Dylan, part Nico from the Velvet underground. The jacket is just pure cool. :-)

Jag tycker att polkadottsen är det bästa med denna look, en sån liten detalj men som gör så otroligt mycket med helheten.
