Something unexpected

by Elsa Termenon on October 14, 2011

Lately I’ve been thinking about that when it comes to styling adding unexpected elements are key to creating an interesting look. For example, instead of going for a head to toe 60’s look try adding something completely contemporary or a 90’s detail to it. Or when you go for a bohemian look, why not adding a glamorous detail? This will make your look less predictable and more creative. Those are always the looks I find myself most inspired by. I believe I used to be pretty good at this, but lately I’ve lost it a little… at least I’m in big need of new inspiration.

Luckily, some fabulous bloggers are there to inspire me and get me back on my fashion track again! Both Mrs. K, Zarna and The Beckerman sisters are experts in adding unexpected elements to their looks. So as I scroll to theirs and other great blogs and streetstyle photos I am now promising myself to try to find that inspiration again to add that twist to my look.

Oh my, this is something unexpected on a friday evening! huh… ! well, i must say that the funny part is that you are an inspiration to me, there is no one in this world who can rock fall colors like you do! bourbon, petrol, oh girl you know how to work with them! but i know what you mean, sometimes it is all a little bit overwhelming, you see so many different styles and trends! i do the same thing, going back to my favorite bloggers!

also, definitely feel ya on the style mojo.  i feel like i’ve lost it and am always looking for some sort of inspiration to help bring it back.  its refreshing to know even somebody as well dressed as yourself can also hit a slump.  thanks for the honesty!
