One of these sunny days in Spain, while sipping on a café con leche at a small café on a pedestrian street, I came to realize something. Spanish women love the bed head hairstyle. Everywhere I looked around me there were these girls looking like they’d just made it out of bed with their locks in a big sexy mess. Here in the States, it seems like if women could have their hair perfectly blown out on a hair salon every day, they would for sure do so. The more styled to perfection – the better, it seems.
I am a person who even thinks washing my hair is a pain in the butt, let alone styling it, so most of the times I feel like the hippie surrounded by perfect hairdos. That’s why I was very inspired by the hairstyles I saw this time in Spain… It’s just so much closer to what I like and find a realistic amount of time to spend on my hair every day. Penelope Cruz must be the Spanish queen of bed heads, don’t you think? She’s also one of my favorite actresses (I loved her in Almodovar’s Volver!).
