Vintage in Winter

by Elsa Termenon on December 9, 2010

This weekend the weather suddenly turned cold and I guess you can say we officially have winter here now. I have been stocking up on my winter essentials for a bit now, the coat I got on Ebay in July to mention one. I also wanted to show you some of the things I got 10 days ago at Beacon’s Closet in Williamsburg, so here we go…

Coat is from Ebay, its sleeves are way to short, which is always my problem when buying vintage (on the other hand I just payed $30 for it!). But I try to compensate with really long knitted mittens! The collar is fake fur, the best kind of fur.

The HAT! One of the treasures from Beacon’s and it was screaming my name in the store! I am so much in love with it its ridiculous!

Darling…

By the way, can you believe we still have roses is our backyard, isn’t it december – hello?

The black dress peaking out is from Buffalo Exchange in Philadelphia, it’s a true staple – goes with anything. I thought I would only wear it in the summer but it’s actually perfect in winter with a pair of thick leggings underneath.

The next treasure from Beacon’s – a pair of black/burgundy 1970′s plateau shoes with wooden heel. Perfection in my opinion!

I never find shoes this old in my size so I was fainting when I realized they were perfect!!

So, everything is vintage except the mittens that are old ones from Top Shop.

Hatten passar dig verkligen!

You look great! (What language do you prefer me to use when commenting??=))
As for the fur, I think as long as it’s vintage (or simply second-hand), it can be both real and fake!=)

Thanks! Well, I actually really appreciate comments in english as everyone can be a part of the discussion then, 70% of my visitors doesn’t speak swedish! I agree, vintage is better than new when it comes to furs. xo
