Polvano

by Elsa Termenon on July 25, 2010

In Tuscany we stayed in an old farmhouse on a small hill, the place (was it even a village) was called Polvano. It was surrounded by wineries and olive groves and roses and lavender were growing wild everywhere, it was just so picturesque . The hotel was like staying in an old italian uncles house, this man Luigi had his strict rules: no TV’s and no flip flops at dinner time – and the gates closed at 11 pm. But like a good uncle he also served delicious food and don’t even mention the wines. I don’t think I’ve ever slept that good and felt more relaxed – I miss the silence and the complete darkness of that place. Here the firetrucks and siren’s of the ambulances are bothering us all through the night.

I tried to stay casual yet elegant which was Luigis official dress code. This is the door to our room, isn’t it beautiful?
