Wild Kids

When I was 12-13 years old I started experimenting seriously with fashion. I remember wanting to dress like no one else, I wanted to be different. I didn’t think it was enough that I dressed in bright yellow flared 70′s pants and layers of long necklaces I also died my light blonde hair crimson red. It was the mid 90′s but I was more drawn to the late 70′s look after my mom gave me boxes of her old clothes, that she had worn as a teenager. Those boxes were a gold mine, and luckily everything was my size! Cork platforms, flared Lee jeans, velvet t shirts and unusual accessories - this was when my love for vintage clothing began. I loved the idea of no one having those exact knitted t shirts with reindeers. This was something H&M never could beat – the uniqueness of the items.

Every time I stop by Tavi’s blog she reminds me so much of myself as a young teenager – drawn to make a statement with my clothing and with an attraction for the weird.
