I stumbled upon these beautiful shots by Mario Testino for Brittish Vogue March 2010 today over here. I just immediately loved the styling of these photos. The layering with the ruffled skirts is just gorgeous! When I saw that the skirts were from the UK store Beyond Retro some sweet memories came to me. It was in early spring 2007 when my friend Johanna and I were in London for a few fun days. We were heading to Brick Lane for some shopping and found this amazing place on a side street - it was huge, it was colorful and filled with inexpensive vintage dresses, ruffled skirts and jumpsuits – we had found heaven on earth (Beyond Retro – Cheshire Street). We were like kids in a candy shop, trying on dresses and accessories!
Soon after that we realized that we were lucky enough to have Beyond Retro in Stockholm (not sure when it opened on Åsöagatan?) so after that we became regulars. But that first BR-experience was a great fashion memory! Here’s some photos from that great moment. (Yes I had brown hair for a brief moment in my life).
There’s a lovely girl named Elsa, just like me who is head of PR for Beyond Retro Sweden. Her blog is great inspiration. Read it here.
